2014: Shelly Stumpff earned first team All-SAC and All-Region honors during her junior season at Wingate, leading the team with 3.35 kills per set…Led the SAC and ranked seventh nationally with 0.59 aces per set…Finished second on the team with 2.52 digs per set, adding 0.41 blocks per set…Had double-digit kills 24 times while collecting nine double-doubles…Notched her 1,000th career kill against Grand Valley State in the Elite Eight…Hit .333 with 16 kills and seven digs against Belmont Abbey…Had 13 kills and 15 digs against Armstrong State…Hit .407 with 12 kills and five aces against Catawba…Had 11 kills, nine digs and five aces against Lenoir-Rhyne, hitting .478…Had back-to-back 11-kill, 16-dig performances at LMU and Carson-Newman…Hit .400 with 11 kills, eight digs and six aces in the Tusculum sweep…Piled up 20 kills and 11 digs in the 3-2 win over Newberry, followed by a 13-kill, 12-dig effort against LMU…Compiled 18 kills, seven digs and four aces at Tusculum, hitting .382…Piled up 17 kills against Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC title match, adding seven digs with a .300 hitting percentage…Hit .414 with 14 kills and nine digs against GRU Augusta in the regional semifinals…Collected 14 kills, 11 digs and three aces in the regional title match against Armstrong…Had 10 kills and 20 digs against Grand Valley State in the Elite Eight.

2013: Stumpff started 34 matches during her sophomore season at Wingate, finishing fourth on the team with 2.24 kills per set, adding 2.15 digs and 0.44 blocks per set...Had a team-best 51 aces, ranking second in the SAC with 0.46 aces per set...Had 15 kills and 11 digs in win against #9 UIndy...Collected 10 kills, five digs and four blocks in win over #11 Colorado Mines...Had 10 kills and eight digs against Newberry...Had seven kills, eight digs and four aces against LMU...Contributed eight kills and 10 digs at Tusculum...Had 11 kills and 14 digs at LMU, followed by a 17-kill, 12-digs performance at Lenoir-Rhyne, hitting .389...Had 10 kills and 13 digs against Tusculum...Had nine kills, six aces and four digs against Anderson in the SAC championship match...Contributed 10 kills, seven digs and four aces against Belmont Abbey in the NCAA Tournament.

Personal: Shelly Stumpff led her Iowa City West High School team to the 2011 State Championship. She was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Stumpff was named the Iowa State Player of the Year, while also earning first team all-state honors as she helped her team win its second consecutive state title. She was named an All-American by prepvolleyball.com in 2011. She was named the Female Athlete of the Year by Iowa Prep Sports and Iowa Press-Citizen. Stumpff teamed with current Wingate middle blocker Lexi Potter on the 2010 Iowa City West championship team.  Stumpff led her Iowa Rockets team to a bronze medal in the 2011 USA Junior National Championships. She played for Iowa at the 2012 High Performance championships. A three-sport star, Stumpff led the basketball team to a state title, while earning All-State honors in softball.

Why Shelly chose Wingate: I chose Wingate because I was looking for a successful volleyball program that was somewhere far from home. Wingate fit this and so much more. Not only was it a good fit athletically, but it is full of so many opportunities academically as well.

Collier:As our team MVP and first team all-conference player last year, Shelly returns as one of the most influential high-level players in both the conference and the region.  As a senior she will be a captain, a strong leader, and certainly one of the top attackers, servers, and all-around players in every match we play all year."
