Wingate University Athletics

Courtney Betts is entering her first year as an athletic trainer at Wingate University, where she will  work primarily with the football, women’s basketball, and women’s track and field programs. She joins the Bulldogs after completing her Master of Science in Athletic Training at the University of Iowa, where she gained extensive clinical experience in both high school and collegiate athletics, as well as within hospital and family medicine settings.

During her immersive experience at Wingate University in Fall 2024, Courtney worked with the Division II football program as they secured the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Division Championship. She contributed to all aspects of athlete care, including injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.

Courtney holds a Master of Art in Coaching and Sport Leadership from Randolph College and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Bridgewater College. She is certified in Graston Technique, and Basic Life Support through the American Red Cross.
