Johnson joined the Wingate staff prior to the 2024 season. He has had plenty of experience throughout college football, starting with his collegiate playing career at University of California-Berkeley from 2013 through 2016.
After his playing carer, Johnson served as a defensive analyst and video coordinator at Murray State in 2018. From there, he went to Sacramento State for two years as a graduate assistant offensive line coach. Johnson then spent the 2022 season as a graduate assistant at Boise State. His final stop prior to joining the Bulldog staff was in 2023, when he served as a graduate assistant coach at Kansas State.
