At Wingate’s recent athletic awards ceremony, senior volleyball All-American Stormi Gale won the Joyce Gragg Pipes Award for Female Athlete of the Year at Wingate University. A repeat winner, Gale is the first two-time All-American in the history of South Atlantic Conference volleyball. She is only the second player to repeat as conference Player of the Year.

Gale earned first team All-SAC honors all four years at Wingate, while earning first team All-Region honors three times. She led the Bulldogs to the nation’s best winning percentage for the second time in four years, as Wingate became the first team in SAC history to win the NCAA Regionals and advance to the Elite Eight. Gale led the conference in hitting percentage, while ranking in the top five in kills, blocks and aces. She finishes her career as the school’s all-time leader in kills per game.
