Wingate University Athletics

Wingate University senior Valerie Dembny (Bremen, Germany) won three events (two relay, one individual) as the Bulldog women’s swimming team won a quad meet Friday and Saturday at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (MCAC).
 
Individually, Dembny touched first in the 200 Individual Medley (2:09.56). She helped Wingate win gold medals in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:39.30) and the 400 Medley Relay (3:57.53). In addition, the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® earned a second-place finish in the 100 Butterfly (59.10) and a fourth-place showing in the 100 Backstroke (59.45).
