Wingate University Athletics

Wingate University senior Marko Blazevski (Skopje, Macedonia) won his third NCAA Division II national title in the 400 Individual Medley during the 2014 NCAA Division II swimming and diving championships at the SPIRE Institute. The 2012 London Olympian won the same race in 2011 and 2012. Blazevski set another Wingate school record with his victorious 400 IM time of 3:48.67.
 
Blazevski was an All-American in four events during the 2014 championships. He finished third with a personal-best time of 1:47.46 in the 200 Butterfly. Blazevski was sixth in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 1:47.18. He swam the anchor leg as Wingate claimed eighth place in the 800 Freestyle Relay with a time of 6:34.61. The two-time Capital One Academic All-America® was an honorable mention All-American in the 500 Freestyle, by virtue of his 12th place finish (4:28.54).
