Freshman guard Janitsha Williams helped Wingate win two road games last week. She averaged 18 points per game and six rebounds per game for the second-place Bulldogs (12-6 overall, 7-3 SAC). Williams shot 56.5 percent from the floor (13-of-23) and seven-of-13 from three-point land (53.8 percent) in the two triumphs.

In Wingate’s 65-56 victory at Anderson Wednesday, Williams had 16 points and three rebounds. She hit 75 percent (three-of-four) from downtown. Williams barely missed a double-double in Wingate’s 97-61 triumph at LMU Saturday, as she posted 20 points and nine boards.

The Statesville High School product is third on the Wingate charts with her 10.3 points per game. She leads the Bulldogs in three-point field goals (24). Her 22 steals are tied for third on the team list. In South Atlantic Conference play, Williams steps up her game with 11.3 points per game.
