Freshman Marko Blazevski established two Wingate University Natatorium pool records Saturday, helping the number 11 Bulldogs defeated NCAA Division III number two Emory (Ga.) University Saturday. Wingate avenges a narrow loss to Emory in Atlanta last January.
 
Blazevski won the 1000 Freestyle (9:35.85) and the 500 Freestyle (4:39.41) in pool record times. The 1000 Freestyle time was 11 seconds better than his previous pool record. Last summer, Blazevski participated in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games for his native country of Macedonia.
 
The All-American candidate started his first Bulldog season by winning three events against UNC Wilmington on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010. Blazevski and his teammates have compiled an 8-2 dual meet record. Wingate is the three-time defending champion for the upcoming Blue Grass Mountain Conference championship meet Feb. 16-19 in Charlotte.
