Hickory, N.C.----The Wingate University men’s basketball rallied for a 69-66 victory over Queens University of Charlotte Friday night in the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Tip-Off Classic at Shuford Gymnasium on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University. The Bulldogs even their 2010-11 ledger at 1-1 overall. The Queens Royals fall to 0-2 overall on the young season.

Wingate sophomore forward Odell Turner (Charlotte, N.C.) had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Bulldog sophomore forward Quan Alexander (Charlotte, N.C.) added 11 points, while redshirt freshman forward Mike Tankersley (Hampton, Ga.) posted 10 points. For Queens, senior guard Reggie Hopkins (Gastonia, N.C.) led all scorers with 16 points. The Bulldogs will face Limestone College Saturday at 5 p.m., while the Royals will battle the host L-R Bears Saturday at 7 p.m.
