Wingate, N.C.----The North Greenville University football team scored five touchdowns from six Wingate University turnovers and recorded 570 yards total offense in a 54-7 NCAA Division II victory over the Bulldogs at Irwin Belk Stadium and John R. Martin Field. The NGU Crusaders earn their first victory over Wingate in eight tries.

Wingate falls to 5-5 overall. The Bulldogs conclude South Atlantic Conference play Saturday, visiting Tusculum College for a 1:30 p.m. contest. North Greenville has won six games in a row, improving its record to 8-2 overall. The Crusaders host Notre Dame (Ohio) College Saturday at 1 p.m.

North Greenville senior quarterback Willy Korn (Lyman, S.C.) completed 20-of-27 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns. The Clemson transfer rushed nine times for 81 yards and one score as the Crusaders compiled 263 yards rushing on 47 carries. Both NGU junior wide receiver Harold Small (Brunswick, Ga.) and sophomore wide receiver Freddie Martino, Jr. (North, S.C.) caught seven passes each. Small had 105 yards and one TD catch.

Wingate redshirt senior quarterback Cody Haffly (Locust Grove, Ga.) completed 29-of-46 passes for 348 yards and one touchdown. Haffly used eight receivers Saturday. Bulldog junior wide receiver Chris Bowden (Forsyth, Ga.) had nine catches for 120 yards. Wingate freshman running back Josh Covington (Charlotte, N.C.) recorded 129 all-purpose yards. The Providence Day product returned four kick-offs for 99 yards.
