Raleigh, N.C.----The Wingate University men’s and women’s track & field teams concluded the
Raleigh Relays Saturday, hosted by N.C. State University at the Derr Track. Two thousand student-athletes from 80 colleges and universities participated in this year’s event (view race videos at this

The highlight for the men’s team was a sixth-place finish in the 4x200 meter relay. The Bulldog quartet includes
Michael Nelli,
Jacob Burnette,
Andrew Fuquay and
Cole Henderson; they ran a school-record time of 1:28.26.
The Nelli/Burnette/Fuquay/Henderson foursome also placed ninth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 42.64. Nelli and Henderson joined freshmen
Scott Pullen and
Corey Silvestri to win the fourth heat of the 4x400 meter relay in a new school-record time of 3:22.07.
The women’s 4x200 meter relay team of JaLisha Little, Lauren Calhoun, Ashley Fleetwood and Kellen Williams placed 12th with a time of 1:44.45, a new school record. The women’s 4x400 meter relay team fielded a new squad this week and narrowly missed the school record. The team of Little, Calhoun, Mckenzi Mocilnikar and Courtney Rainey ran 4:04.71.
Next on the horizon for the Wingate track and field teams are the Terrier Relays Saturday, April 7 at Wofford College.
