Jade Montgomery (Monroe, N.C.) notched her fifth career hat trick Wednesday afternoon, leading the Bulldogs to a 5-0 victory over visiting Coker College in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action. Wingate wins its fifth straight, improving to 6-2-2 overall and 5-1 in the SAC. The Cobras fall to 2-9 overall and 1-5 in the conference. The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 21-1 during the five-game winning streak.

Brooke Howell (Charlotte, N.C.) got the Bulldogs on the board 20 minutes into the first half, taking a feed from freshman
Mariah Coleman (Mt. Ulla, N.C.) to net her team-best 10th goal of the year.
Montgomery's first goal of the night came five minutes later, taking a cross from Howell and scoring her sixth goal of the season to make it 2-0.
Montgomery notched her 16th career multi-goal game in the 30th minute, with a lead pass from sophomore
Kaitlyn Brunworth (Littleton, Colo.) finding Montgomery behind the defense with just the keeper to beat. Wingate went to halftime with a three-goal lead, out-shooting Coker 15-1.
Wingate got on the board again 23 minutes into the second half, with Montgomery finishing off her hat trick off assists from freshman
Taylor Leyble (Jacksonville, N.C.) and
Kaitlyn Fletcher (Jacksonville, N.C.). Montgomery now has 59 career goals, putting her sixth on the all-time SAC scoring list.
The Bulldogs capped their scoring on the afternoon with 21 minutes remaining in the second half, with freshman
Samantha Leonard (Conowingo, Md.) scoring her fifth goal of the year, heading one in off a cross from freshman
Emily Scully (Selden, N.Y.) to make it 5-0.
The Bulldogs outshot Coker 35-2 on the night, holding a 19-1 advantage in shots on goal. Montgomery had a match-high seven shots on the day, with six shots coming on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Ashlyn Hardie (Summerfield, N.C.) got the win for the Bulldogs.
Lizz Morris had 14 saves for the Cobras.
Wingate is back in action Saturday, traveling to Brevard for a 1:30 p.m. start.
