Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs registered their 10th shutout of the season Tuesday evening, picking up a 1-0 victory over visiting Barton College in NCAA Division II women's soccer action. Wingate improves to 13-1-1 overall, while Barton falls to 6-6-4 on the year.
The Bulldogs dominated possession throughout most of the first half, holding a 9-2 advantage in shots, with a 4-1 edge in shots on goal. The game went to halftime scoreless.

Brooke Howell (Charlotte, N.C.) in the box. The All-SAC forward crossed one right in front of the net, where freshman
Morgan Meltzer (Jacksonville, Fla.) headed home her first career goal to make it 1-0. She is the 15th different Bulldog to score a goal this season.
The Bulldogs finished the night with a 23-4 advantage in shots, including a 10-2 edge in shots on goal. Sophomore
Alexis Jones (Midway Park, N.C.) collected a pair of saves to preserve the Wingate shutout.
Kelsey Rothwell had eight saves for Barton. Howell registered a match-high five shots for the Bulldogs.
Wingate is back in action Friday, wrapping up the regular season at Tusculum at 4 p.m.
