Laurinburg, N.C.----Reigning South Atlantic Conference offensive Player of the Week Brittany Andrews (Bel Air, Md.) had five goals and two assists to lead Wingate University to an 18-10 non-conference women's lacrosse victory at St. Andrews University Wednesday. The Bulldogs are 4-2 overall, while the SAU Knights fall to 0-5 overall.

"I am pleased with our overall performance," Wingate head women's lacrosse coach Caline Olmsted says. "We made some adjustments at halftime and did a good job of finishing our shots."

The two teams were tied 7-7 at intermission. Wingate scored the first eight goals of the second half to put the game on ice. Andrews added two assists to her statistical ledger for a team-best nine points. Bulldog junior team captain Erin Murphy (Mooresville, N.C.) and junior midfield Emily Nosek (Bel Air, Md.) had three goals each. Murphy played the second half in goal to demonstrate her versatility.

Wingate hosts Tusculum Saturday at the Irwin Belk Track Complex turf field. First draw control is slated for 3 p.m. The TC-WU contest was originally scheduled for Tusculum, but the severe winter weather of the last few weeks necessitated the change.
