Wingate is 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the SAC. LMU falls to 5-4 overall, 2-3 in the SAC. The Bulldogs conclude a four-match home stand Wednesday, hosting SAC foe Coker at 7:30 p.m. The Railsplitters host non-conference mountain rival Lees-McRae Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Ross converted a free kick 122 seconds into the contest. Defense was the name of the game, as the two teams combined for 11 shots with Lincoln Memorial holding a slight 6-5 edge. The Railsplitters and the Bulldogs had two shots on goal each.
LMU sophomore forward
Victor Peres (Brasilia, Brazil) had two big opportunities in the first half. He had a shot blocked in the fifth minute and Jara made an excellent save on another Peres try in the sixth minute. Only three Railsplitters even attempted a shot, while five Bulldogs took one shot each.
