Lakeland, Fla.----Wingate University sophomore attack Jeremy Sullivan (Crofton, Md.) netted five goals as the Bulldogs earn their second consecutive victory in a 13-11 win over the Florida Southern College Mocs in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse action at Bryant Stadium Wednesday. The Wingate Bulldogs led wire-to-wire, improving to 2-4 overall. The Mocs are now 5-3 overall. The Bulldogs got off to an early 3-0 start with 9:32 in the first quarter on back-to-back tallies from Sullivan and a third goal from freshman attack

Jack Pedernales (Charlotte, N.C.) to make it a 3-1 contest with 6:22 remaining in the first quarter of play.
Wingate responded with three unanswered goals to take a 6-1 lead with 10:01 in the second quarter. The fourth goal came from Sullivan's third tally of the contest. The Arundel High School product now has 11 goals on the young season. The next two goals were scored by freshman midfielder
Daniel Godwin (Greensboro, N.C.) and freshman attack
Alex Llerandi (Marietta, Ga.). Godwin is the reigning South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
The Mocs then cut the five-goal deficit down to two on three consecutive tallies to make it a 6-4 game with only 21 seconds remaining in the first half. FSC sophomore midfielder
Cody Gray (Riverview, Fla.) scored the first goal of the streak. Gray led the Florida Southern offensive attack with three total goals in the contest. The Bulldogs maintained the 6-4 advantage going into the halftime break.
Wingate answered on back-to-back goals from Sullivan and junior midfielder
Seth Grimwood (Huntingtown, Md.) to give the Bulldogs an 8-4 lead with 12:40 in the third quarter of play. The Mocs would get within one goal with three more consecutive scores to make it an 8-7 game with 4:46 left in the third quarter.
The 'Dogs then added a couple of insurance goals from junior attack
Austin Murphy (Orillia, Ontario) and freshman attack
Kenan Reed (Winston Salem, N.C.). Florida Southern would not cut the deficit any closer than two goals down the stretch.

Cody Christie (Vernon Hills, Ill.) played for a total of 36:12 and recorded seven saves. He was later replaced by junior goalkeeper
Matt Lalli (New Milford, Conn.), who played for a duration of 23:48. Lalli recorded two saves.
The Wingate University men's lacrosse team will be back in action on Saturday as they conclude the Florida spring break road trip with a stop in Winter Park, Fla. to take on the Rollins College Tars. Face-off is slated for 10 a.m. The Florida Southern College Mocs will also be in action on Saturday when they host the Limestone College Saints at 12 noon.
