Wingate, N.C.----The ninth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs out-shot visiting Newberry College 18-3 Saturday night, rolling to a 3-0 victory in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action at Pride Park. Wingate improve to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the SAC, while the Wolves fall to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
All-American forward
Jon Ander (Bilbao, Spain) got the scoring started in the 11th minute, ripping one from the top of the box past the keeper, finding the back of the net for the third time this year.
Wingate added to its lead four minutes later, when All-SAC midfielder
Callum Ross (Newcastle, England) converted his second successful penalty kick of the year, scoring his team-best fourth goal of the season to give the 'Dogs a 2-0 halftime lead.
Wingate added an insurance goal with 30 minutes to go in regulation. Ander put a free ball towards the back post, where junior forward
Elma N'For (Yaounde, Cameroon) headed home his fourth goal of the season, tying Ross for the team lead.
Wingate's 18-3 advantage in shots included a 12-1 edge in shots on goal. The Bulldogs also took seven of the eight corner kicks on the night. Ander led the way with six shots, including three shots on goal.

Pablo Jara (Santiago, Chile) notched a save to register the shutout.
Brad Dixon had nine saves for the Wolves.
Up next for the Bulldogs is a huge region matchup against Limestone, who was ranked 14th in last week's poll. The top-15 matchup is slated for 7 p.m. Wednesday on ESPN3.
