Charlotte, N.C.----The number eight Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team won the 2017 South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse tournament title with a 16-0 championship game victory over Wingate University. Royals sophomore attack

Queens improves to 16-3 overall and will await word on the NCAA play-offs when the pairings are announced May 7. Wingate finishes its best season in school history 13-5 overall. Scott shared team-high point total honors with senior attack
Abigail Paulus (Pickerington, Ohio) as the duo posted six points each. Scott had one assist to go with her five scores, while Paulus posted four goals and two assists. Senior midfielder

Ally Blood (Jarrettsville, Md.) added two goals each for the tournament hosts.
Wingate sophomore goalie
Arion Pierre (Haymarket, Va.) had a career-high (tying) 18 saves for the Bulldogs. She played 60 minutes Saturday. Queens freshman goalie
Chase Brokaw (Sykesville, Md.) had six saves in the same time span. The Royals outshot the Bulldogs 37-7.
Scott was named the tournament MVP. She was joined on the all-tournament team by Brokaw, Bruder, Paulus, senior midfielder

BULLDOG NOTES
Insel will go down in history as the only Bulldog to start every game (60-of-60) during the first four years of the program. Insel, Sienon and senior midfielder
Laura Swanson (Plantation, Fla.) have been with the program since day one, serving as starters throughout their respective careers. Swanson and Dempsey served as team captains this year.

Shannon O'Neal (Severna Park, Md.) made the first team. Dempsey and Insel were named to the second team. Both Andrews and Dempsey surpassed the 100-goal plateaus for their respective careers.
