Jefferson City, Tenn.----The Wingate University swimming teams won 10 events (seven women, three men) on the second day of a two-day dual meet against Bluegrass Mountain Conference foe Carson-Newman University Saturday at the MSAC pool (complete Saturday results). The number nine Bulldog women won a 199.5-115.5 decision over the number 18 CNU Eagles, while the number 20 Carson-Newman men defeated number 10 Wingate 170.5-144.5.
 
Wingate junior Vaula Vekkeli (Lahti, Finland) won two Saturday individual events for the visiting Bulldogs. She took the checkered flag in the 100 Butterfly (58.61) and the 400 Individual Medley (4:35.92). Bulldog freshman Anna Miram (Ludvika, Sweden) also played a role in two Saturday triumphs, as she touched first in the 100 Backstroke (57.89). She swam the first leg on Wingate's victorious 200 Medley Relay as well (1:48.45).
