Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs had five players score at least 14 points Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 90-68 victory over visiting Fayetteville State in NCAA Division II men's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 2-2 on the year, while the Broncos fall to 0-2 overall.

- A Strozier layup and Haskins jumper gave the 'Dogs an early 12-6 lead
- A layup and a three from Hovasse stretched the lead to nine at the 12:03 mark
- A Nakia Rivers triple got Fayetteville State back within four at the midway point of the half
- Strozier's layup made it 30-22 but FSU scored the next seven to cut the lead to one
- Another Hovasse layup made it 41-36 with 3:25 to go; Mark Burton capped a 6-0 FSU run to put the Broncos on top a minute later
- Johnson's layup in the final second gave Wingate a 45-44 halftime lead

SECOND HALF

- A pair of Will Brown free throws gave Fayetteville State a 49-48 lead two minutes into the second half
- The 'Dogs used a 14-3 run to take a 10-point lead at the 13:18 mark
- Haskins had four points in the spurt with a Hovasse three capping it
- A Dawkins triple capped a 5-0 run to put the 'Dogs up by 13 with 11:37 remaining
- A Jyles Webster tip-in got the Broncos back within eight, but Strozier's bucket at the 4:43 mark put the lead in double figures for good
- Wingate closed out the game on a 16-3 run over the final five minutes
