Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got double-doubles from Danasia Witherspoon, Caroline Averette and Jordan Quick Tuesday night, while outscoring visiting Lander University 46-28 in the second half en route to an impressive 75-67 victory in NCAA Division II women's basketball action. The Bulldogs improve to 3-2 overall, while Lander falls to 2-2 on the season.

- A three from Amaiya Melvins gave the Bearcats a 25-19 lead at the end of the quarter

SECOND QUARTER

- Buckets from Witherspoon and Quick got the 'Dogs within two at the 5:57 mark
- A layup from Melvins put Lander back on top by six, but Averette's layup cut that in half at the 3:13 mark
- A three-point play and jumper from Jessica Harris in the final 16 seconds put Lander on top 39-29 at halftime

THIRD QUARTER

- Wingate scored 15 of the first 17 points in the quarter to take the lead
- Witherspoon had seven points in the spurt that lasted the first six minutes of the quarter
- Buckets from Harris and Melvins put the Bearcats back on top by six with 1:48 remaining
- Snow's layup made it a one-point game, but a Mylea McKenith three gave Lander a 56-53 lead heading to the fourth

FOURTH QUARTER

- The Bulldogs scored the first 11 points of the final frame to take an eight-point lead
- Robinsons' three at the 7:47 mark put WU on top by five, while an Averette layup capped the spurt
- A Harris three got the Bearcats back within three with 5:34 to go, but the 'Dogs scored the next six
- Quick, Witherspoon and Averette each had two points in the flurry that made it 70-61 with two minutes left
- A Harris layup got the Bearcats within five with a minute to go
- Averette and Snow hit four free throws in the final 55 seconds to seal the victory
