Zach Little (Troutman, N.C.) had the game-winning RBI single in the top of the 11th inning Saturday morning, leading the Bulldogs to a 6-5 victory over Florida Tech in a game that was suspended in the top of the 10th inning Friday night due to fog. Wingate moves to 5-0 overall, its best start since the 2010 season, while the Panthers fall to 1-3 on year.

Justin Guy (Greensboro, N.C.) went two-for-four with a homer and two RBI to lead the Wingate offense. Junior infielder
Tyler Schneider (Richland, Ind.) collected two hits, an RBI and two runs scored, while junior catcher
Micah Goodwin (Rougemont, N.C.) had a double and an RBI for the Bulldogs. Senior outfielder
Ty Andrus (Winston-Salem, N.C.) registered three stolen bases and a run scored.
Wingate jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third when Guy connected on his first homer as a Bulldog, a two-run shot to left.
An RBI single from
Zac Orchard got the Panthers within a run in the bottom of the frame, while
Pierson Reynolds led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo shot to tie it.
The Bulldogs scored three times in the top of the eighth to take a 5-2 advantage. Senior infielder
Brett Branton (Athens, Ga.) led off the frame with a double, then scored on a wild pitch to put Wingate on top. Andrus reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and third, then scored on Schneider's RBI single. Goodwin added a two-out RBI double to center to make it a three-run game.
Florida Tech answered in the bottom of the ninth. With two outs and a runner on second, Orchard kept the game alive with an RBI double.
Jacob Buser followed with a game-tying two-run blast on an 0-2 pitch, making it 5-5 and sending it to extra innings when the fog rolled in.
After a scoreless 10th inning Saturday morning, Schneider led off the frame by reaching on an error and advancing to second. He scored the game-winning run on Little's RBI single through the left side. Junior right-hander
Austin Turgeon (Athens, Ga.) retired the Panthers in order in the bottom of the frame, striking out the final batter of the game to secure the win.
Turgeon moves to 1-0 on the year. He allowed a run on one hit in 2 1/3 innings, striking out four without walking a batter. Senior right-hander
Hunter Morgan (Summerfield, N.C.) went four innings, allowing two runs in his second start of the year. Junior right-hander
Lane Wildman (Virginia Beach, Va.) worked three shutout innings in relief, striking out five and allowing just one hit. Andrew Beyer took the loss, allowing a run on a hit in two innings of work to fall to 0-1.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday afternoon, taking on Flagler at 3 p.m. Wingate wraps up its Florida trip Sunday morning, facing Valdosta State at 11 a.m.
