#22 Bulldogs fall 9-6 at UNC Pembroke Tuesday night

Pembroke, N.C.----A six-run sixth inning was not enough for No. 22 Wingate University Tuesday night, as the Bulldogs fell 9-6 at UNC Pembroke in NCAA Division II baseball action. The Braves improve to 14-5 overall, while Wingate falls to 18-6 on the season.

Ethan Baucom had a homer and two RBI to lead the UNC Pembroke offense. Roberto Rivera and Trevor Clemons each added two RBI and a run scored, while Connor Grainger went three-for-four with an RBI and a run scored. Trey Jacobs and Bobby Dixon each added an RBI and a run scored for the Braves.

Grainger's RBI double in the second got UNCP on the board, while an RBI single from Clemons and Jacobs RBI groundout in the third made it 3-0.

The Braves scored three more runs in the fourth, with Rivera's RBI single and a Clemons sacrifice fly making it 6-0.

Wingate answered with a six-run sixth inning to tie it. A walk and Tyler Schneider (Richland, Ind.) single put two on for Forry, who lined a two-run triple to right to get Wingate on the board. After a Zach Little (Troutman, N.C.) single, Wynn connected on his first homer of the year, a three-run shot to left to make it 6-6.
