Efficient Bulldogs remain perfect on the year with sweep at Lincoln Memorial

Box Score Harrogate, Tenn.----The 22nd-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs hit a season-high .358 Friday night while committing a season-low six errors, cruising to a 3-0 victory at Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action. Wingate won a tight 25-23 first set, then took control by winning set two and three by an identical 25-8 margin to move to 19-0 overall and 12-0 in the SAC. The Railsplitters fall to 5-12 overall and 4-6 in league play.

SET ONE

- Kills from Lambillotte and Lynnlee Mather put Wingate on top 8-6
- A Lindsey Nartker block gave LMU a 9-8 lead, but WU scored the next four points
- Lambillotte had a pair of aces in the spurt that put the 'Dogs on top 12-9
- Two Abernathy kills made it 14-11, but a Cate Hosenfeld kill got the Railsplitters within one at 18-17
- Kills from Lambillotte, Mather and Blackley put Wingate on top 21-18
- An Emily Walter kill got LMU back within one at 22-21, but a Schaff kill made it 23-21
- Back-to-back Hosenfeld kills tied it at 23, forcing a Bulldog time out
- Schaff answered with a kill, while Lambillotte followed with a kill to finish the set

SET THREE

- A kill and a block from Alles gave Wingate an early 8-4 lead
- The Bulldogs used a 13-0 run to take control of the final frame, taking a 21-5 lead
- It was Lambillotte at the service line this time, collected three aces in the spurt
- Maggie Young had four blocks in the flurry, with Blackley adding two kills and two blocks
- Kills from Abernathy and Ahrens put the Bulldogs on top 24-7
- Schaff ended the match with a kill
- WU hit .381 with 10 kills and two errors in the set; LMU hit -.179 with five kills and 10 errors
