Wingate, N.C.--- The Wingate University Bulldogs out-rebounded visiting Johnson C. Smith University 57-33 Wednesday night, led by junior forward
Teliyah Jeter's 18 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks to prevail 59-48 in Division II women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. The Bulldogs improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Golden Bulls suffer their first setback, falling to 2-1.

"Every win is a good win, and it's nice to win at home. Especially with such a young team, to get a win under our belt. We had some really big performances, Teliyah's was one of the best I've seen. She is fun to watch with her ability to block shots, get rebounds and she did a great job getting to the free-throw line and converting when she got there."

- Wingate shot 30.8 percent from the field on the day, JC Smith shot 29.5 percent
- The Golden Bulls shot 31 percent (five-for-16) from three-point range, the Bulldogs shot just nine percent from beyond the arc (one-for-nine)
