Wingate, N.C.----The Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters outscored Wingate University 27-14 in the second and third quarters Saturday night on the way to a 62-54 victory in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action inside Cuddy Arena. The Railsplitters get their first win of the season moving to 1-2 and 1-0 in conference play, while the Bulldogs fall to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the SAC.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH ANN HANCOCK
"Today overall was a tough day for the Bulldogs. LMU came in and really punched us in the mouth. We didn't do the things we needed to do to get a win. Every win is tough and challenging in the SAC, and with such a young group, they don't really know what it is all about. Basketball wise, we cannot continue to foul, and every time you foul 30 times in a game, it's hard to get a win in combination with 20 turnovers. Mathematically, it gets really hard to win. We are learning and hopefully we'll be better next time out."
