San Juan, Puerto Rico--- The Wingate University Bulldogs had 10 different players score Monday afternoon, rolling to a 52-40 victory over Puerto Rico-Bayamon on day one of the 2019 Puerto Rico Clasico inside the Coliseo Mario Morales. The Bulldogs improve to 8-2 overall, pushing their winning streak to four.
KEY STATS
- Wingate shot 41.3 percent from the field on the afternoon, Bayamon shot 23.5 percent
- The Bulldogs shot 40 percent (two-for-five) from three-point range, UPRB shot nine percent from beyond the arc (one-for-eight)
- WU held a slight 38-37 rebounding advantage

- Wingate jumped out to an early 8-0 run

- With 1:46 remaining UPRB cut the lead to four with a Carla Colon bucket
- Troutman's free throw with 1:26 to go capped the scoring in the frame
SECOND QUARTER
- Wingate came out firing with a pair of Troutman buckets and two Jeter buckets
- The 'Dogs had a 15-point advantage with 7:07 to go
- Midway through the frame a Daynelis Rivera layup for UPRB made it 21-10

Ilene Hurley free throws at the 4:36 mark made it 25-13
- Bayamon capped the scoring with a layup from Alysha Cotto made it 27-17 at half
THIRD QUARTER
- A Blakely three midway through the frame put Wingate on top 30-21
- A three and a layup from Clark extended the lead to 14
- With 3:38 remaining an Ingram layup gave the Bulldogs a 37-23 lead
- UPRB got two free throws in the final two minutes of the frame to make it a 12-point game
FOURTH QUARTER
- A
Jaia Wilson bucket put WU on top by 15 with just over six minutes to go
- The Bulldogs got their largest lead of the game of 17 from a Hurley layup with three minutes to go
- Bayamon got a Lyann Lopez 3-pointer with 1:08 remaining
