Pembroke, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs swept their fifth straight doubleheader Friday afternoon, taking two at UNC Pembroke in NCAA Division II softball action. Wingate won the opener 4-1, while prevailing 2-0 in game two to improve to 10-2 overall. The Braves fall to 6-8 on the season.
Mary Claire Coyne piled up four hits and five RBI on the day, while
Aubrey Reep fired a four-hit shutout in game two.

- Weidner allowed a run on three hits in seven innings of work to get the win
- The senior struck out six without walking a batter to move to 6-1 on the year

- She leads the league in wins and ranks second in strikeouts
