Wingate rides big innings and dominant pitching to doubleheader sweep over Broncos

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University junior right-hander Aubrey Reep tossed her third career no-hitter Tuesday afternoon, while the Bulldogs posted a pair of eight-run innings en route to a doubleheader sweep over visiting Fayetteville State University in South Atlantic Conference softball action. Wingate won the opener 11-0 in five innings, while taking game two 8-0 in five innings behind Reep's no-hitter. The 'Dogs push their winning streak to 12 games, improving to 12-2 overall, while FSU falls to 0-10 on the season.

- A Reep sacrifice fly and Sells RBI single gave Wingate a 7-0 advantage
- Wells and Floyd capped the frame with back-to-back RBI doubles to put the 'Dogs on top 9-0

- Woods got things started with a two-out single, then moved to third on Coyne's double
- Reep plated both of them when she reached on an error to make the final margin 11-0

- Weidner moves to 7-1 on the year, picking up her seventh straight victory
- The senior allowed just two hits in four innings, striking out eight without walking a batter
- The SAC leader in wins lowers her ERA to 1.68
- Ashlyn Zook took the loss, allowing 11 runs on 11 hits in four innings, falling to 0-6
