Wingate, N.C.----Trailing by three points in the final seconds of regulation Wednesday night, the ninth-ranked Queens University Royals got a desperation triple from Van Turner with one second left to send the game to overtime, eventually prevailing 99-91 in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action over Wingate University in Cuddy Arena. The Royals improve to 26-3 overall and 18-1 in the SAC, while the 'Dogs fall to 16-11 overall and 12-7 in league play.

- Cottingham buried a triple to cap the flurry and put Wingate on top 50-49
- A Haskins three and Taylor dunk put the Bulldogs on top 59-55 at the 14:14 mark
- Back-to-back buckets from Dye tied it, but a Josh Strozier three and Johnson layup put the 'Dogs back up by five

- Queens outscored Wingate 14-6 in overtime
- Diankulu's bucket at the 3:28 mark gave the Royals a 91-86 lead
- Dawkins answered with a three to get the Bulldogs within two with two minutes left
- Dye countered with a three, while a three-point play from Dye gave Queens an eight-point edge with 58 seconds left
- The Bulldogs would get no closer the rest of the way
