Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University junior pitcher/designated player Aubrey Reep had a homer and five RBI in game one, while piling up a career-high 13 strikeouts in the circle in game two to lead the Bulldogs to a doubleheader sweep over Belmont Abbey in NCAA Division II softball action Monday afternoon. Wingate won by scores of 14-4 (5 innings) and 2-1 to improve to 2-2 overall, while the Crusaders fall to 2-2 on the season.

- Wells ripped an RBI single to left to make it 2-0

SECOND INNING

- A Claire Doyle double and Wingate error got Belmont Abbey on the board
- WU answered with five runs in the bottom of the frame
- Coyne's two-run double made it 4-1
- Reep followed with an RBI double, while a two-run double from Wells put the 'Dogs on top 7-1

THIRD INNING

- A bases-loaded walk and Doyle two-run double got the Crusaders within three at 7-4

FOURTH INNING

- The Bulldogs plated seven runs in the bottom of the fourth
- Reep started the scoring by blasting her first homer of the year, a three-run shot to left
- Sapp's two-run single made it 12-4
- Elizabeth Swenson added a two-run single to make the final margin 14-4

WRAP UP

- Weidner struck out a career-high 11, walking three to move to 1-1 on the year
- The senior allowed just four hits on the day
- Ivorie Maltby took the loss, falling to 1-1
- She allowed seven runs on six hits in 1 2/3 innings, walking two

- She allowed two runs on six hits in six innings, striking out five and walking two
