Belmont, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got two combined homers and seven RBI from Tyler Schneider and Jed Bryant Tuesday afternoon, while the bullpen did not allow an earned run in 6 2/3 innings of work as the 'Dogs downed Belmont Abbey 13-7 in NCAA Division II baseball action. Wingate moves to 4-0 on the season, while the Crusaders fall to 1-3 overall.

FIRST INNING

SECOND INNING

- Daniel's RBI single plated Dula to make it 4-0
- Daniel then stole a base and scored on a wild pitch to give Wingate a five-run lead
- Jason White's RBI single got Belmont Abbey on the board in the bottom of the frame

THIRD INNING

- RBI singles from Ben Sneider and Matty Bapst got the Crusaders within one at 5-4

FOURTH INNING

- Belmont Abbey scored three more runs in the fourth to take the lead
- Two walks and an error loaded the bases with two outs for Sneider
- Sneider cleared the bases with a three-run double to right center, giving BAC a 7-5 advantage

FIFTH INNING

- Wingate answered with a seven-run fifth inning
- A Mellett single, followed by a walk and hit batsman loaded the bases with one out
- Llewellyn tied the game at seven with a two-run single
- Bryant followed with his first homer of the year, tucking one inside the foul pole in left to put WU on top 10-7
- Two more walks and a hit batsman loaded the bases for Little
- The senior made it 12-7 with a two-run single to left

SEVENTH INNING

- Little drew a one-out walk, stole second, then scored on Schneider's RBI single to make it 13-7

WRAP UP

- McCollum picks up his first collegiate win, moving to 1-0
- He went 1 2/3, striking out four and allowing a hit without giving up an earned run
- Fellow freshman McCullough struck out four batters in the fifth inning, with one reaching via wild pitch
- Dula ended the game with three strikeouts in the ninth
