McCann Mellett connected on a grand slam in game one Saturday afternoon, while junior right-hander
Alex Rodriguez tossed a three-hit shutout in game two as the Bulldogs swept visiting Coker College in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate won the opener 12-1, while taking the second game 2-0 to improve to 17-9 overall and 5-3 in the SAC. The Cobras fall to 10-13-1 overall and 5-6 in league play.
