Anderson, S.C.----The 20th-ranked University of North Georgia Nighthawks had three players score 16 or more points to lift them to a 76-53 victory over Wingate University at the Abney Athletic Center in NCAA Southeast Regional Semifinals Saturday evening. North Georgia improve to 29-4 overall and advances to the regional title game, while the Bulldogs finish the season 23-9 overall.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH HANCOCK
"Obviously it's not the way we wanted it to end up, but North Georgia is an incredibly talented team and we knew that going in. They created some match-up problems for us. They are a lot bigger across the board than we are and they have several different weapons that can score the ball. We got off to a bit of a slow start, but I was proud that they fought back. I was pleased with the effort and sad that the seniors had to go out in a game like that. In the bigger picture of everything, I'm really just glad for the four years we had with them because it was a pretty special group."
