Wingate, N.C.----Thirteen different Wingate University women's lacrosse players scored a goal as the Bulldogs posted 17 unanswered scores on the way to a 21-5 South Atlantic Conference victory over Mars Hill University Saturday at Graham Gill Field. Wingate is 3-5 overall and 1-0 in the SAC. Mars Hill falls to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the SAC.

"Today was a great way to start off SAC play. To have 13 goal scorers is very impressive…I was very happy to see everyone contribute to the victory.
Megan Amrein was someone who really sparked the offense in the beginning of the game to get the team rolling."

- Wingate doubled up Mars Hill 36-18 in shots
- The Bulldogs had 28 shots on goal to only 12 for the Lions

FIRST HALF
- Foust scored the game's first goal on an Eckard assist
- Wells and Ruiz scored for Wingate to make the score 2-1
- Dallman scored for the visitors to tie the score at 2-2

Emily Ketron converted a free-position goal to give the hosts the lead for good at 3-2 (20:58)
- The two teams traded goals to make the score 4-3 four minutes later
- Akers started the aforementioned 17-0 run at the 14:24 mark
- WU finished the half with a 10-0 flurry to take a 14-3 lead at intermission
SECOND HALF
- Wells had two of her three goals after halftime (21:06, 17:35) to lead the 'Dogs
- Gallagher finished the Wingate scoring at the 7:07 mark to make the score 21-3
