Cobras take two from #21 Wingate

Hartsville, S.C.----The Coker College Cobras used a three-run seventh inning to rally for a 5-4 victory in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader, then prevailed 7-2 in game two in South Atlantic Conference softball action. The Cobras improve to 24-8 overall and 3-2 in the SAC, while the 'Dogs see their six-game winning streak come to an end, falling to 24-10 overall and 5-3 in league play.

- A hit batsman started the inning, while a Chloe Pelham RBI double to left got Coker within a run
- Ashley Meckley followed with a walk-off two run homer to give the Cobras the 5-4 win

WRAPUP

- Taylor Forehand got the win, moving to 5-1
- She allowed just one hit in 2 2/3 innings, striking out five
- Reep took the loss, falling to 11-4
- She allowed four earned runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings, striking out five

- The Cobras out-hit the Bulldogs 10-5 in game two
- Wingate had the lone extra-base hit in the game
- The Bulldogs committed the only error in the contest
- Coker struck out seven without walking a batter; WU had three strikeouts and four walks

- Loney and Floyd each drove in a run for the Bulldogs in game two
