Charlotte, N.C.----Wingate University sophomore Josep Canyadell picked up victories at number one doubles and number four singles Friday afternoon, but NCAA Division I foe Charlotte prevailed 6-1 over the visiting Bulldogs in men's tennis action. Wingate falls to 11-3 overall, with two of those setbacks coming against Division I opposition. Charlotte moves to 8-11 on the season.

DOUBLES

- Canyadell and Daniel Belsito prevailed 6-4 at number one doubles
- Charlotte won 6-3 at two and three doubles to clinch the doubles point for the 49ers
- Charlotte took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Canyadell prevailed 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 at number four singles
- Tolunay Sumer won the first set 7-5 at five singles, but lost the second set 6-4 then fell in the tiebreaker
- Charlotte also picked up 6-4, 6-3 victories at one and six singles
