Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University rolled to a pair of victories Saturday afternoon, putting up 24 runs on 21 hits against visiting Charleston (W. Va.) in NCAA Division II baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate won the opener 10-4, while prevailing 14-7 in game two to improve to 13-8 overall. The Golden Eagles fall to 4-6 on the season.

- The Golden Eagles regained the lead on a Jack Brunetti solo homer
- Wingate scored four in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good
- Forry started the bottom of the inning with a towering solo shot to left center to tie it
- Two batters later McNeely connected on his first career homer, a two-run shot to make it 4-2
- Ricky Clark followed with a double, then scored on a sacrifice fly from Little to put WU on top by five

SIXTH INNING

- The 'Dogs scored five runs on just one hit in the bottom of the sixth
- Two walks and a hit batsman loaded the bases
- Rohleder and Forry drew bases-loaded walks to start the scoring
- Mellett scored on a wild pitch, while Bryant's sacrifice fly made it 9-2
- Forry scored the 10th run of the game on a balk

WRAPUP

- Turgeon got the win, moving to 4-1 on the year
- The senior struck out five and walked just one in seven innings, throwing 118 pitches
- Turgeon has gone at least six innings in all six starts this year, going seven or more five times
- Brandon Harris took the loss, falling to 0-2
- He allowed five runs on six hits in three innings, striking out one and walking three

- Dula dropped a double down the left field line, then scored on an RBI double from Rohleder

FOURTH INNING

- The Golden Eagles scored four times in the top of the frame to tie it at six
- Singles from Little and Forry along with a walk loaded the bases
- McNeely's sacrifice fly put Wingate back on top
- RBI singles from Clark and Rohleder gave the Bulldogs a 9-6 advantage

FIFTH INNING

- Little led off the inning with a single, stole a base, then scored on Forry's sacrifice fly
- Bryant followed with his seventh homer of the year, a two-run shot to left to make it 12-6

SIXTH INNING

- Guy ripped a triple to left center to plate Dula and give the 'Dogs a 13-7 lead
- Guy scored on a wild pitch to make the final margin 14-7

WRAPUP

- McCollum moves to 2-1 on the year, allowing two runs in two innings while striking out four
- Alex Rodriguez allowed five runs on six hits in 3 1/3 innings, striking out four
- Sawyer Lee retired both batters he faced in the sixth
- Lane Wildman worked a scoreless seventh inning
- Austin Henrich took the loss, falling to 1-2
- He allowed eight runs on six hits in 3 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking three
