Wingate, N.C.----The second-seeded and 15th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs advanced to the SAC Tournament semifinals with a 4-0 victory over Anderson University in quarterfinal action of the 2019 South Atlantic Conference women's tennis tournament. The Bulldogs improve to 19-1 overall, while the Trojans fall to 12-9 on the season.
DOUBLES
- The nation's 29th-ranked doubles team of
Michela Verpelli and
Alisa Rudenko rolled to a 6-2 win at one doubles

Arianna Ceccaroni and
Camilla Ciaccia prevailed 6-4 at three doubles
- The 45th-ranked doubles team of
Claudia De Andreis and
Chyi Lee had a 5-4 lead when the doubles point was clinched
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play
SINGLES
- Ciaccia gave Wingate a 2-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at six singles
- Rudenko, ranked 57th nationally, prevailed 6-1, 7-5 at two singles to make it 3-0

Riann Hsu won the clincher at three singles, picking up a 6-1, 7-5 win
- Verpelli won the first set 6-3 at one singles before dropping set two 6-4
- Lee won set one 7-5 and was tied 4-4 in set two when the match was clinched
- De Andreis was also up a set with a 6-4 set-one win, but trailed 5-4 in set two
