WHAT THEY ARE SAYING
Wingate University head men's golf coach
John Hackney: "We battled hard today, but didn't have anybody go deep like the teams that finished ahead of us. It was a solid round on a tough track, but some guys went really low today. I still feel we are only a whisker away from winning tournaments. Hopefully, it will all click in two weeks at the SAC Championship."
"Philip has played well at this tournament for four years…he posted another top 10 this week with some steady play. He carded five birdies today and had a lot of clutch up-and-down plays during the tournament."
"It was good to see Nicolas back in the good form that he displayed in the fall. He played with a lot of confidence this week. Charles didn't have his best stuff and managed to get it around and put up a decent number today. Tim bounced back from a rough first day to shoot 73 today with five birdies."
"As a team, we had 14 birdies in our counting scores today…which is good. Unfortunately, just a few too many errant approach shots cost us from going under par. We are in one of the nation's top golf conferences, so we need to bring our 'A' game to claim a SAC Championship."
