Wingate, N.C.---Wingate University freshman guard
Hannah Clark hit a jumper with eight seconds left, lifting the Bulldogs to a come-from-behind 63-61 South Atlantic Conference women's basketball victory over UVA Wise Saturday in Cuddy Arena. Wingate is 11-4 overall and 4-2 in league action, while the brand-new SAC member Cavaliers fall to 7-7 overall and 3-5 in the SAC.
THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH ANN HANCOCK
"I am really proud of the effort to rally in the fourth quarter. In some other recent games, we did not respond well when we were down.
Teliyah Jeter made some huge plays, as did
Hannah Clark; however, it was a total team effort. There are lots of things we can learn from the game, but there is always more to learn from a close win than the other way around."
