Salisbury, N.C.----The Catawba College Indians pulled away late against the visiting Wingate University Bulldogs Thursday evening, prevailing 78-58 in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action inside Goodman Gym. The Indians remain undefeated on the season moving to 10-0 and 5-0 in conference play, while the Bulldogs fall to 9-3 overall and 3-2 in league play, seeing their five-game winning streak come to an end.
KEY STATS
- Wingate shot 41.7 percent from the field on the afternoon, Catawba shot 38.7 percent
- The Bulldogs shot 43 percent (three-for-seven) from three-point range, The Indians shot 29 percent from beyond the arc (seven-for-24)

FIRST QUARTER
- Wingate started the game with a pair of free throws from a Catawba technical
- The Indians answered with a pair of triples from Madison Hallman
- At the 3:37 mark Catawba stretched the advantage to 14-4
- A Clark three with 2:16 remaining cut the Indians lead to seven
- A Jeter bucket and free throws from Stephen and 
Elana Ingram got WU within four
- A Catawba three with a minute remaining capped the scoring
SECOND QUARTER
- Wingate came out firing with a pair of Clark buckets and a Coleman jumper making it 22-20 at the 8:27 mark
- Back-to-back threes gave Catawba the eight-point edge with eight minutes remaining
- Midway through the frame an Ingram three-point play had the 'Dogs within six
- Wingate got a jumper from Jeter and a three from Clark to make it 37-35 with 3:46 to go
- Catawba ended the quarter with a 10-2 run making it 47-37 at half
 
THIRD QUARTER
- Wingate scored the first in the second half with buckets from Troutman and Clark
- Catawba answered with a 6-0 run, capped by a pair of Taisha Deshazo free throws
- At the midway point Quick hit a pair of free throws to pull the Bulldogs within single digits
- In the final two minutes the Indians scored seven unanswered to make it 60-46
FOURTH QUARTER
- A 
Daphney Saylor layup at the 5:30 mark had Wingate within eight
- The Indians would go on a 9-0 run over four minutes to push the lead to 17
- Talia Barnes had five points in the flurry
- A pair of Coleman free throws with 1:30 remaining made it 73-58
- Wingate would get no closer the rest of the way
