Wingate, N.C.---The Wingate University Bulldogs had 27 turnovers and missed 12 free throws Saturday afternoon, falling 77-55 against Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. The Eagles improve to 13-5 overall and 9-3 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 12-7 overall and 6-6 in league play.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH HANCOCK
"Carson-Newman is a really good basketball team. They have so many weapons and they shoot the ball so well. So, it makes it hard to guard them. And on top of their good shooting; they crash the boards. They get a lot of second chances and in those second chances it leads to an open three. They are very talented, and you can't expect to beat a team like that with 27 turnovers. We have a lot of inexperience and youth out there and I think it's going to have to be one day at a time and learn from our mistakes."
