Wingate, N.C.----The fourth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs opened the 2020 season with an emphatic 6-1 victory over visiting Belmont Abbey College in NCAA Division II men's tennis action Saturday afternoon. Wingate starts the season 1-0, while the Crusaders fall to 0-1 on the year.
DOUBLES
- The nation's fifth-ranked doubles team of

Josep Canyadell won 6-3 at one doubles

Matteo Gostoli, ranked 16th in the nation, prevailed 6-4 at two doubles

Enrico Giacomini for a 6-3 win at three doubles to make it 1-0 heading to singles play

- Canyadell won 6-1, 7-5 at two singles
- Giacomini cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number three singles
