Hickory, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs outscored Lenoir-Rhyne University 31-16 in the second half Saturday afternoon, picking up a 54-44 road victory in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Shuford Memorial Gym. The Bulldogs improve to 13-8 overall and 7-7 in league action, while the Bears falls to 8-12 overall and 6-8 in the SAC.

SECOND QUARTER
- In the opening minute of the second frame the teams traded buckets
- LR then pushed their lead to 12 with a jumper from Karlie Bearden at the 7:39 mark
- Wingate answered with a 12-0 run spanning four minutes of action
- Douglas capped the flurry with a three with 3:41 left on the clock
- The Bears ended the quarter on a 6-1 run going into half leading 28-23
THIRD QUARTER
- Wingate got an Ingram jumper to start the half
- With 5:41 on the clock a Douglas three tied the game at 28-28
- Wingate's first lead of the game came with 3:49 remaining on a Clark layup
- Coleman made a pair from the charity stripe to make it 34-30 a minute later
- A Douglas three and Ingram jumper pushed the Bulldog lead to seven with just under a minute to play in the quarter

- The Bears made a free throw with 26 second to go making it an eight-point game, they would get no closer
