Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs plated a school-record 39 runs in Sunday's doubleheader, sweeping visiting Barton College in NCAA Division II softball action. Wingate won the opener 16-0 in five innings, while rolling to a 23-1 victory in five innings in game two to move to 4-6 on the season. Barton falls to 4-4. Wingate scored at least one run in every inning of Sunday's doubleheader. The 'Dogs scored 55 runs in four games over the weekend.
