Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs outscored visiting Newberry College 12-5 in overtime Wednesday night, prevailing 97-90 in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate moves to 11-14 overall and 7-12 in the SAC, while the Wolves fall to 12-13 overall and 8-11 in league play.

- The 'Dogs answered with an 8-0 run, taking a 21-7 lead on Sio's three with 11:47 to go
- Marcus Ford's triple pulled the Wolves within eight at the 5:52 mark, but Priest's triple put WU back up by 11
- A Tucker layup and three, along with a Sio triple gave Wingate a 44-30 lead with 2:04 left
- Sio buried another three with 26 seconds left to push the lead to 15; an Angelo Sales bucket in the final seconds cut the deficit to 50-37
SECOND HALF
- Brown's three got Newberry within eight, but a Priest bucket made it 55-44
- The Wolves used a 16-4 run to take a 60-59 lead on a Marshall Lange layup at the 12:19 mark
- Lange's three-point play put NC on top by two, but buckets from Johnson and Tucker put WU back on top
- A Dawkins three gave the 'Dogs a 68-65 lead at the midway point
- A Sales three-point play put Newberry back on top with 8:27 to go, but Wingate scored the next seven
