Oklahoma City, Okla.----The third-ranked University of West Florida Argonauts picked up a 4-1 victory over fourth-ranked Wingate University on day one of the NCAA Division II ITA Indoor National Championship in men's tennis action. West Florida improves to 7-1 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 3-1 on the season.
DOUBLES
- The nation's fifth-ranked doubles team of
Daniel Belsito and
Josep Canyadell led 5-4 at one doubles
- The 16th-ranked team of
Roy Stepanov and
Matteo Gostoli fell 6-4 at two doubles
- West Florida claimed the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at three doubles
SINGLES
- Belsito, ranked sixth in the nation, prevailed 6-3, 7-5 at number one singles

Tolunay Sumer rebounded from a set-one loss to win set two 6-3 at five singles against the nation's 30th-ranked player
- Sumer led 3-2 in the third set when the match was clinched

Enrico Giacomini dropped a tough 7-6 first set, then trailed 5-2 in the second set

Matt Jones won the opening frame at six singles, before falling 6-4, 6-0
- West Florida also picked up wins at two and three singles to clinch the win
