Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

#4 Mercyhurst rides big second half to victory over #11 Wingate

Wingate, N.C.---- The fourth-ranked Mercyhurst University Lakers outscored #11 Wingate University 7-1 in the second half en route to a 10-6 victory in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse action at Graham Gill Field Saturday afternoon. The Lakers start the season 1-0, while Bulldogs fall to 1-1 overall.

THOUGHTS FROM TIM BOYLE

"Too many mistake, two quarters with zero goals. We beat them on face-offs, so we had plenty of possessions, but some didn't turn into positive offensive possessions for us. But if you aren't scoring goals in two of four quarters, you are going to have a rough time winning. We hope that the lessons we learned today will prepare us for future games. No one likes to lose, but you learn a lot more from a four-goal loss to the #4 team in the country, than you do from a 10-goal win over an unranked team. We are hoping to take what we did today, learn from it and get prepared for Westminister next weekend."
