Newberry, S.C.----Just over 24 hours of dropping a home game against Newberry College, the Wingate University Bulldogs went on the road and took down the Wolves 70-62 in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action Wednesday night. The Bulldogs improve to 5-3 overall and 5-3 in the SAC, while the Wolves fall to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in league play.

- A Quandaveon McCollum bucket at the 11:38 mark put Newberry on top 16-13
- Two Marcus Ford free throws stretched the NC lead to five at the midway point
- A jumper and triple from Priest tied it at 20 with 8:24 to go
- Two more Ford free throws put Newberry on top 24-22, but WU answered with a 12-2 run
- Tucker and Sio each knocked down a triple in the flurry which put the 'Dogs on top 34-26
- A Robinson jumper pulled Newberry within five at halftime, making it 34-29
SECOND HALF
- Buckets from Taylor and Priest pushed the lead to seven early in the second half
- A Sio three-point play and Cottingham triple made it 44-34 at the 15:33 mark
- Tai Giger hit a three to pull the Wolves within five at 44-39
- Another Giger triple made it a two-point game at the midway point
- Sio answered with a three, while Cottingham's layup made it 55-48 with eight minutes left
- A McCollum three-point play got Newberry within one with under five minutes remaining
- Sio responded with a three-point play to put Wingate on top 61-57 with four minutes left
- Priest's three-point play pushed the lead to six with 2:37 to go
- Free throws from Cottingham and Priest made it an eight-point game with a minute left
- Brown's layup with 32 seconds left got the Wolves back within four at 66-62
